Karen's Story

Karen Gowans, founder of Rethink Midlife, is a person of many roles—entrepreneur, woman, mother, sister, friend, wife, and soulful guide. For 25+ years she worked as an independent consultant, leading large corporations through global technology and transformation projects, all while balancing life as a wife and mother.

But her world began to change—children grown, career shifting, parents aging, friendships fading—and she knew she had to change with it. What once fulfilled her no longer did. She felt stuck and asked herself: how do I pivot?

Karen drew on the same analysis and strategic thinking she had once used to transform corporations and applied it to her own life. If she could guide organizations through complex change, why not use that same approach to create a roadmap for her own transformation? That pivot brought her clarity, renewed purpose, and a way forward.

Now, in her 60s, Karen understands not just the decision to pivot, but what life feels like on the other side of it. Her purpose is to share her knowledge and wisdom through simple online courses, personalized one-on-one mentoring, and immersive retreats—guiding others to create their own next chapter with confidence, clarity, and joy.

Midlife is not a crisis, but a doorway. It’s a chance to release what no longer serves, reclaim your joy, and step forward with clarity and confidence.
