A New Perspective on Life, Science, and Emotions

For years, I believed science had all the answers. My university education taught me to prioritize logic and evidence.

Now, in my 60s, I have the time and fewer distractions to reflect and I’ve realized how limited that view can be.

Science is only just beginning to grasp the complexity of emotions and the profound mind-body connection.

Modern research reveals that emotions aren’t just brain-based; they arise from interactions between the brain, body, nervous system, and gut.

Emotions are constructed experiences shaped by culture, context, and personal history, rather than being universally expressed.

Additionally, the heart and vagus nerve actively regulate emotions, emphasizing our holistic nature. Practices like heart-focused breathing demonstrate this integrated approach.

This evolving understanding aligns with ancient wisdom, like the concept of Yin and Yang vortexes—places where Earth’s energy is thought to be amplified.

Yin vortexes emit calming, healing energy (e.g., Chiang Mai, Glastonbury), while Yang vortexes radiate dynamic, creative energy (e.g., Sedona, Uluru).

Modern thinkers such as Dr. Joe Dispenza and Dr. Lisa Miller now recognize that belief and environment influence our emotional states—resonating with the ancient idea that energy vortexes can impact well-being.

As science evolves, so do I—open to exploring perspectives that blend logic with ancient insights, realizing that understanding emotions requires embracing both modern research and time-honored traditions.
